Since its inception, Kids Tag Art Pinellas has raised $100,000 for art education in Pinellas County Schools.
Kids Tag Art Pinellas is a Florida Standards-aligned curriculum where Pinellas County 5th grade students design their own unique vanity tags (front license plates) during art class. These metal tags can be purchased and displayed on the front of vehicles in Florida and many other states.
Proceeds from tag sales and community donations go to participating schools to purchase art supplies and fund art-themed field trips. In addition, $1 from the sale of each tag is donated to the St. Petersburg College Foundation’s “I AM 4 ART, U CAN B 2” Scholarship Fund.
Kids Tag Art Pinellas is a community partnership program made possible by partnerships between the Pinellas County Tax Collector's Office, School District, and generous community sponsors.
It is imperative for Pinellas County students to have the opportunity to think both creatively and strategically.
From the Education Commission of the States, a trusted education policy resource:
"Arts education fosters critical deeper learning skills, such as collaboration and perseverance, in students... Arts education benefits both students and society, because students of the arts disciplines gain powerful tools for creatively making decisions and solving problems when no prescribed answers exist."
